This building is currently closed by a gate and is used for storing archaeological findings. Originally, it was a market where the people of Pompeii could buy cereals, herbs and dried pulses. It opened out onto the Forum and had evidently not been completed at the time of the eruption as the walls show no sign of having ever been plastered.
